The Key Clubhouse at Northside Commons
The Key Clubhouse moved to its new location on July 23, 2021 at Northside Commons, located at 8301 NW 27th Avenue, Miami, FL 33147. Northside Commons is a beautiful new seven-story supportive housing complex built by Carrfour Supportive Housing with 80 units of subsidized apartment units for very low income individuals, primarily serving those with serious mental illness.
The Northside Commons project was financed through the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, the primary source of Federal/State funding for affordable and supportive housing developments in the state. The project represents a collaboration between Carrfour Supportive Housing and The Key Clubhouse, and is the first clubhouse in the state that is located in the same building as supportive housing for clubhouse members. Forty-five of our members will be living in the apartment units above the Key Clubhouse, which is located in a 5,000 sq. ft. space on the ground floor.
The new Key Clubhouse includes a Culinary Unit, Business Unit and Communications Unit where Clubhouse members will work side-by-side with staff to rebuild their lives. Members will be able to learn real-world skills in a restaurant-style training kitchen, snack bar, a small bank, video production room and thrift shop, as part of the Clubhouse’s “Recovery Through Work” program.
